Precision CNC Turning Services

Modern Group delivers on finished machined components having over 20 precision CNC lathe turning centers within our machining services group. Our expert staff will ensure that the right cell is designed to exceed your expectations. From simple stand-alone machines to complex robotic cells, our staff works on integrating the most cost-effective solution for the job.

CNC Turning Services

Precision CNC lathe turning services use a CNC lathe to manufacture cylindrical parts. It is a cost-effective solution for many types of metal components, including gear blanks, fasteners, joint connectors, levels, and rotors for various industries.

From our engineering staff to our dedicated in-house tooling design and fabrication, to our 200,000 sq/ft manufacturing space housing cutting-edge equipment, Modern Group has the experience and capacity to deliver on your precision CNC turned parts.

Benefits of CNC Turning

CNC turning produces parts with greater speed, efficiency, and precision than other methods of manufacturing. That efficiency makes turning an affordable production method. Its precision improves assembly time and fit and makes turning ideal for parts with symmetry along a central axis.

Turning Equipment

With more than 20 precision turning centers in our CNC turning services group, we have the knowledge, skill, and capacity to deliver the products you need. Our cutting-edge equipment at the Modern Group includes two and three-axis precision lathes capable of working on pieces with diameters up to 36 inches, including the following machines:

CNC lathes use moveable arms which machinists’ program to make specified movements. They are defined by the number of axes of movement they produce. CNC lathes use a standard definition of X, Z, Y, B, and C axes to determine the proper programming.

A 2-axis lathe performs drilling, facing, inner and outer diameter machining, and tapping on the X and Z axes. A 3-axis lathe adds another dimension of rotation suitable on the C axis for boring and milling.
