Metallographic Mounting

At Modern Group we combine our metallurgical expertise and state of the art equipment to provide valuable insight about the inner composition of the materials we use.  We often make “mounts” which are small samples cut out of the physical parts which are mounted in plastic and then etched and polished to show the inner structure of the base material.  There are many different possible microstructures that each yield unique hardness, toughness and ductility properties.
